Chocolatey, gooey, sticky, warming, indulgent.
Is there is better bonfire snack?
The biscuit sandwich with chocolate and marshmallows was common in American teen shows, but it has never held such a staple place in British culture.
This year might be time to change that though, as while you freeze watching the sky light up, you could be munching on something both sweet and warming.
S’mores, made easily with some heat and tasty ingredient combinations, are quick to assemble – and even quicker to eat.
It’s quite literally in the name: they leave you wanting more.
McVitie’s and Mallow & Marsh have three s’more recipes worth trying this Friday.
The Classic S’more
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate digestives
- Marshmallows coated in milk chocolate
- Salted caramel sauce
Method
- A Halloween and Bonfire Night staple, simply place a marshmallow coated in milk chocolate on a chocolate digestive with the chocolate side up.
- Zap it in the microwave for 20 seconds, then drizzle with salted caramel sauce and top with another biscuit chocolate-side down.
PB&J S’more
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate digestives
- Mallow & Marsh Raspberry Marshmallows coated in 70% dark chocolate
- Peanut butter
- Raspberry jam
Method
- Take a milk chocolate digestive chocolate side up, then put one Mallow & Marsh Raspberry Marshmallow at the centre of the biscuit and microwave for 20 seconds.
- Place a dollop of the jam on top of your marshmallow. Then spread a thick layer of peanut butter on another biscuit and place on top.
