Most people relish any opportunity to snap up a bargain – especially when it comes to food.

If this applies to you, a lesser-known McDonald’s hack should be on your radar.

It turns out, customers can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 – if they are willing to fill out a quick feedback survey.

Usually the Big Mac meal deal comes in at £4.79 for a medium size and £5.19 for a large one. So that’s a saving of £2.80-£3.20 every time.

To snap up the discounted price, customers need to keep their receipts from previous purchases – as each one contains a code that can be entered on the McDonald’s Food For Thought website.

This unique 12-digit code can be found on the receipt every time you buy food or drink from the restaurant. Once you’ve submitted it online, simply fill out a survey about your last McDonald’s meal, then you’ll be given another five digits.

If you write these on your original receipt and take it to a McDonald’s branch, this will become your voucher.

Simply hand it over to staff and reap the savvy saving on your meal.

If Big Macs aren’t for you, there’s also the option to order a Fillet-O-Fish or Vegetable Deluxe instead – and swap out the fries for a side salad, if you prefer.

It’s also worth pointing out that there’s no minimum spend to get this initial 12 digit formation – so you could buy the cheapest thing on the menu and still get the discount.

Although, McDonald’s has said that it keeps tabs on the codes to avoid fraudulent activity – so you can’t just write five random numbers on your receipt.

There’s also a 60-day time limit from receiving a receipt to complete the questionnaire and claim the deal.
