Not sure if apartment living works when you have a family?
These new-build developments in London have all sorts of child (and parent) friendly amenities including playgrounds, pools and even on-site nurseries.
Some are even ideally located for some of the capital’s best schools and green spaces.
Shall we take a look at some of the best options?
Colindale Gardens, Colindale NW9, two-bed apartments from £535,000
Move here and you’ll be joining an established, friendly community where 20% of the site is green space.
Includes a central park and outdoor play areas – while a new primary school is coming further down the line.
Trent Park, Oakwood N14, from £790,000 for a two-bed apartment
Only a few minutes by shuttlebus from Oakwood’s Piccadilly line station, this development is surrounded by 413 acres of woodland in Trent Country Park.
As if that’s not enough, a Go Ape treetop adventure will keep the kids entertained.
Chelsea Creek, Chelsea SW6, two-bed apartments from £1.325million
This luxury development includes a swimming pool, cinema room and landscaped gardens, and little ones can burn off excess energy at Gambado, an indoor playground with a carousel and dodgems, only one minute’s walk away.
Beam Park, Rainham RM13, two and three-bed apartments from £332,000
The former Ford manufacturing plant is being transformed into a 3,000-home scheme including two new schools and a nursery.
There’s tons of room for children to run around as 40% of the site will be green space and Beam Valley nature reserve is on the doorstep.
Tollers Lane, Old Coulsdon, CR5, two and three bed-houses from £450,000
40% Help To Buy loans are available, making these some of the most affordable such houses in London. They’re adjacent to Farthing Downs and Happy Valley, a haven for wildlife with walking trails and bridleways.
Barking Riverside, Barking IG11, two-bed apartments from £81,250 for a 25% share of £325,000
When complete, this new neighbourhood will incorporate seven new schools, a network of footpaths and cycleways, sports pitches and playgrounds, including Little Bees Playpark which opened in May. Three-bed homes launch next month.
East Wick & Sweetwater, three-bed townhouses from £930,000
An on-site nursery opens early next year in this mixed-use, residential-led community, located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It’s full of families and described by a resident as a great environment for kids.
