A fruity pink gin and tonic is a perfect tipple for summer – and now you don’t have to just enjoy it in a class.
Gordon’s has created a birthday cake flavoured with the stuff.
Each cake has four layers of sponge – two pink and two white, sandwiched with a raspberry jam filling and decorated with a pearlescent pink ombre effect.
The gin flavour comes from the frosting, which covers the whole thing. It’s all finished off with edible sugar pearls and dried raspberries.
First launched in 2017, the pink gin made by the brand gets its taste and colour from raspberries and strawberries.
You’ll be able to pick one up for £12 at Asda from July 25, and from Tesco after September 6.
Emma Hamilton, brand manager of Finsbury Food Group, who helped Gordon’s make the cake said: ‘We know gin lovers will want to snap this up, but we’ve made sure that there’s enough beautiful flavours and toppings to delight those who aren’t as partial to gin too.’
Facebook page Money Saver Online posted the news and gin fans were excited to get their hands on one.
One person wrote: ‘Wow that looks amazing.’
Another added: ‘Hoping for one of these on my birthday.’
Someone else pointed out that while cake might be traditional for a birthday, you are welcome to enjoy it all year round.
‘It says cake…. it doesn’t say birthday cake… fancie a happy Monday cake?,’ they joked.
