Easter Monday marks the day after Jesus was resurrected in the Bible, thus bringing the Christian holiday to its conclusion.
Easter is one of the most important dates in the Christian calendar, but its date changes every year.
Many are now wondering about when the festival will fall in 2022.
So, when is Easter 2022, and why does the date change?
When is Easter 2022?
Easter Sunday will fall on April 17 in 2022.
Good Friday will be observed on April 15, and Easter Monday on April 18.

This is later than the 2021 dates, as unlike Christmas, this religious festival falls on a different day each year.
Why does Easter change dates every year?
Easter moves around each year because it is what we call a moveable feast. It can happen on any Sunday between 22 March and 25 April.
It always falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon which follows the Spring equinox in March.
The March (or Spring) equinox is the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator from south to north and falls on March 19, 20 or 21 each year.

After the date is drawn from the lunisolar calendar, it is then translated onto the Gregorian calendar which we use in the UK, and it must always fall on a Sunday between the aforementioned dates.
The Protestant church adapted the established Gregorian date band for Easter some time between 1753 and 1845.
