A Scottish woman has been dubbed a ‘real life Barbie doll’ by strangers due to her extravagant style and how she looks.

Elizabeth Smith, from Edinburgh, is known for her big hair, petite frame, flawless make-up and her custom made clothes – something which onlookers see as her signature ‘Barbie’ look.

The 20-year-old says that while she doesn’t see the resemblance herself, she takes the comparison as a good thing.

She says: ‘People say I am the human version of Barbie. I don’t personally see it myself, but I take it as a compliment. I think it is mainly because of my makeup and bouncy hair.

‘I get lots of compliments on my hair, girls are always asking me to show them how to do it but the trick is just lots of backcombing.

‘My hair naturally has a lot of volume so that makes it easier, and I have just got very good at backcombing and curling over the years to achieve a big backcombed bouncy look.’

Elizabeth says she takes fashion inspiration from her mum, Louise Young, and her passion for shopping means she has a brand new outfit for every weekend.

Chanel, Fendi and Dior are some of her favourite brands, but Elizabeth adds that she also loves high street retailers such as Zara. In total, her wardrobe boasts 40 pairs of shoes and 18 lavish handbags.

Elizabeth adds: ‘My mum has had eight kids and still looks like a supermodel.

‘Fashion is one of my main interests, it is my favourite hobby and I feel great when I am dressed up in my favourite clothes.

‘I get lots of comments on my wardrobe and people always ask me where my clothes are from, which I love. Receiving compliments on my outfits gives me the motivation to dress up more, I love it.

‘I would describe my style as a mixture of everything, as I can be casual and also very glamorous, but I would say the best way to describe it is classy. I love wearing a nice coat with some heels.’

She also designs her own dresses and has them made for special events, such as weddings.

‘If I am struggling to find something then I always design an outfit with a dressmaker so I can wear exactly what I want and have it exactly how I like it,’ Elizabeth adds.

The fashion lover recently tied the knot to her long-term boyfriend and, as you’d expect, the wedding spared no details.

Elizabeth and her husband got married at the luxurious Trump Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire, Scotland, with 20 guests due to restrictions.

She says: ‘This was my absolute dream venue, I had always wanted to get married there in the ballroom. It is just beautiful.

‘It is like something from a movie. I felt so lucky to be able to get married here even though it wasn’t exactly how we would have planned because of the pandemic.’
