With London and the South East plunged into Tier 4 at the weekend, Christmas plans have changed for many.
While those who had planned to host are left with too much food, people were planning to visit family have empty fridges.
With shops busy and people being warned to stay home, Uber Eats has come to the rescue with emergency turkey deliveries in London.
It means you’ll be able to get the traditional dinner centrepiece delivered direct to your door.
People in the city can order a full turkey for £20, or a turkey crown if you’re just feeding a few people, for £10.
They will be delivered frozen, in thermal bags to keep protected and to be cooked at home.
The turkey will come fresh seasonal vegetables and a specially made stuffing mix.
Slots will open between 12pm and 6pm from tomorrow (December 22) until Thursday (Christmas Eve).
Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK commented: ‘Christmas is somewhat different this year, especially for those who suddenly find themselves in tier four without being able to see friends and family.
‘It may be far from perfect this year, but being able to order an Emergency Turkey along with the trimmings will help people in Tier 4 make the most of Christmas at an affordable price.
‘We will continue to offer customers across the country the best choice of food, grocery, convenience and alcohol deliveries throughout the festive and new year periods.’
Other delivery services like Deliveroo and Just Eat have also teamed up with supermarkets including Aldi, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons to bring groceries to your door, if you need other things for the big day.
