In a year when we’ve all taken stock of our lives, the value of our local communities and surroundings have never felt so important.
A recent survey by Rightmove revealed that people living in St Ives were the happiest in Great Britain.
Of the 21,000 participants who were asked how they feel about their home, those who live in the Cornish coastal town marked highest.
The former fishing town ranked highly thanks to its beautiful scenery, green spaces, nature and friendly community.
The average house price in St Ives is £413,414 and interest in properties in the picturesque town is on the top.
According to Rightmove, demand for property in St Ives has risen by 120% in the last year.
Coming in second in the survey was Skipton in North Yorkshire, followed by Leamington Spa in Warwickshire in third position.
Both areas are beautiful in their own right, but with the added bonus of being surrounded by countryside, the survey reflects how beneficial open green space is for our health and wellbeing.
