Last year we covered the news that you could buy what’s been called Britain’s ‘smallest detached house’ – that’s just 13ft wide – for £150,000.

We apologise in advance if you were thinking about shelling out for it but didn’t strike when it was on the market for that amount.

Why? Because that same house has now been renovated and is up for sale again.

But this time, the asking price is £275,000.

It’s still fairly cheap compared to the average price of a detached house in Britain, which is around £383,000.

But of course, you do get less space than the usual house on the market, as this one, called Rose Cottage, is just 13ft wide and 26ft tall.

A tiny detached property believed to be the smallest in Britain could be snapped up by house-hunters at auction for ?150,000. Number 15 Goldhill Road, in Knighton, Leicester, is just three metres (13ft) wide and seven metres (26ft) high and covers 338 square feet over two floors. But while homeowners fork out on average ?365,697 for a detached property in Britain, this one could set potential buyers back just ?150,000. The two bedroomed property is described as being in demand as it's located near schools, parks and amenities and sits only two miles from the city centre. It features a living room, (4.46m x 3.38m) kitchen (2.24m x 1.84m), dining room (3.38m x 3.65m), family bathroom and an enclosed rear garden. The quirky property is set to be auctioned by SDL Auctions at Leicester City FC's King Power Stadium on September 3.

The two-bedroom home in South Knighton, Leicester, has been around for 120 years or so, and was in need of a bit of a refresh.

It was bought at auction last year, and over the course of 12 months has been through a total transformation.

Now, along with a fresh lick of paint on the exterior of the home, the house has new laminate flooring throughout, a refurbished kitchen, and new fittings to make it feel more modern.

There’s also a new roof and combi boiler.

Newton Fallowell, who are selling the property, describe the house as ‘unique and quirky’, and perfect for a first-time buyer.

The property description reads: ‘Unique and quirky are just two ways of describing this two double bedroom detached property having been thoughtfully modernised throughout and being located within the highly desirable area of South Knighton in Leicester, close to many well regarded schools and boutique shops.

‘Newton Fallowell Estate Agents in Oadby are very proud to bring to the market For Sale one of the most unusual and rare properties in the UK.
