Here’s a easy twist on an old school, yet still loved dessert.

As brands have gone all out for chocolate orange flavoured products this year, here’s a recipe using that classic flavour combination.

We’re not over chocolate orange twists on recipes yet it seems, and this one from Fitwaffle Kitchen has us drooling.

Eloise Head, Fitwaffle founder, said: ‘If you love Terry’s chocolate orange, you will love this twist on a Millionaire’s shortbread.’

She promises ‘it’s much easier to make than you may think’. We’re sold.

A millionaire’s shortbread – just incase you’re not familiar – is traditionally made up of a shortbread base, with a caramel layer in the middle, which is then topped with a thinner layer of chocolate.

Eloise describes her version as being: ‘A chocolate digestive base, thick caramel with a hint of orange flavour in the middle and chocolate orange on the top.’

Getting the caramel right is the toughest part of the recipe, otherwise it’s pretty fool-proof.

Followers of Fitwaffle have always given their praise of the recipes that are shared on the account – and this one is no different.

One person commented this was next on their baking list, while another tagged their friend demanding: ‘make these please’.

If banana bread is losing its appeal, give these a go.
