Many people have already started putting their Christmas decorations up, getting their homes cosy after a strange year.

One big trend that’s emerged for 2020 is gonk dolls, those gnome-like indoor figures that look like a Nordic version of Santa Claus.

Gonks come in all sorts of colours, and typically have a tall hat, prominent round nose, and bushy beard – much like Father Christmas himself.

Recently, shoppers have been raving about the gonks on sale at Aldi, with pictures of the adorable dolls being shared on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

One person posted a picture of the sparkly-hatted gonks, saying: ‘Gonks from Aldi @ a cracking price of £9.99. Superb quality and look great!!’

The decorations come in red or grey, with extendable legs and sequinned hats.

Comments poured in from group members, with one saying: ‘I really really need these!!!!!!!’

A another wrote: ‘I got one from Aldi yesterday. It was the last one in store.’

As with anything from Aldi, it’s probably worth getting down there soon. The plushies are sold out online, so try your luck in store to get your hands on one.

A similar gonk is available from Very for £15.99 if you aren’t so lucky at Aldi. Their 16-inch decoration wears a sweet fairisle jumper and has a beard made of a chenille-like tool.
