If you’re looking to cut down on your ever-increasing screen time then a remote getaway has just the solution.

Unplugged cabins, located in the Essex countryside, have come up with a brilliant way to encourage guests to ditch their phones during a trip away.

The team behind the cabins, located just an hour from London, will physically lock your device away for three whole days, for the definition of an uninterrupted break.

As the name company name suggests, Unplugged invites guests to fully ‘switch off’ and instead embrace nature and a smart phone-free getaway.

The website says: ‘Experience the joys of being digitally-free and put a pause on all of your notifications by locking away your phone.’

But you certainly won’t be bored, as there’s plenty to get up to. Each cabin is decked out with everything a person could possibly need for a cosy break, such as a fridge, shower, gas cooking equipment, fluffy towels, books and a pair of wellies for winter walks.

The website jokes that ‘unwarranted emails, pushy push notifications, aimless scrolling and Netflix binges’ are not included.

Rockells Cabin also offers a digital-free welcome box, which features treats such as a Polaroid camera for taking retro snaps, a custom map to help you explore the surroundings and postcards to send to loved ones back home.

Three nights at this unique cabin costs £390 and bookings can be made up to March next year.

Ben Elliot the co-founder of Unplugged tells Metro.co.uk: ‘After looking at my horrendous screen time, I also had the realisation I’d never taken “true time offline.”

‘We’re all so connected to our devices in the evenings, weekends and even on holiday. We wanted to create that same disconnect of a silent retreat in the Himalayas, without having people fly halfway around the globe. Through creating an accessible escape for busy city workers we hope we can give them the space to truly disconnect and recharge.’

And it seems like it really does work, too. One person left a review stating: ‘My detox gave me time to think, breathe and be present. Without all the noise of everyday life, I was really able to reconnect with my creative side which was really exciting and reaffirming as it’s something I’d been questioning for some time.’
