A mum has transformed her daughter’s playhouse from cute princess style to spooky and haunted with just a few cheap decorations.
Wanting to create something special for Halloween this year, the woman put the playhouse at the centre of the display.
With coronavirus meaning many celebrations won’t go ahead, she planned to go all out on the decorations around her home to make kids smile as they walked past.
It even features a light show, which can be used after dark to really add to the spooky feel.
Posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, the woman said:’Thanks to our local bargain shops myself and my daughter have created a little haunted house in our front drive. The witches cabin awaits!
‘We had a blast decorating it. I really hope we make some children smile that pass by our house ( especially as Halloween is going to look a little different this year). That’s what it’s all about!’
She said the decorations came from Poundland and Home Bargains and the light projector was from Lidl but includes things for other holidays, including Christmas.
Starting with some fake cobwebs over the roof, she placed some plant pots around the house and stood Halloween signs in them.
She then added bats and spiders on top, pumpkins, a broomstick and a doormat at the front.
People loved the idea and said they would try transforming their own kids’ toys.
One said: ‘That’s brilliant!!’
Another added: ‘How fantastic, well done you what a lovely idea! Even nicer the fact you did it for other kids as well as your own!’
