An adorable dog who has spent most of her life in kennels is desperate to find a forever family as she enters old age.

Molly, a boxer cross, is facing the possibility of spending the rest of her life in kennels if she doesn’t find a loving family to take her home soon.

At 11, Molly is in the twilight of her life, and has spent more than a decade living in a kennel after she was found wandering as a stray at just eight months old.

Now, as Molly enters old age, charity bosses are desperate to find this loving pup a home.

‘Molly is a very special girl with a big heart and we would love her to finally find the home she deserves,’ says Celine Di Crocco, manager at Dogs Trust, Loughborough.

‘Although she has unfortunately not spent much time in a home, Molly has stayed with me and she was the ideal house guest.’

‘She was perfectly comfortable with all the different sounds and smells, slept in the lounge at night and we enjoyed a cuddle on the sofa in the evening.

‘She had a really tough start in life, but every dog really does deserve a loving family and we’re hoping that this Grandparent’s Day, Molly finally gets to meet hers.’

Going to live with a family will be a big change for Molly, after such a long time living in kennels. Any prospective owners will need to take a gentle approach.

The charity says the adoption process for Molly would need to be slow and steady. She can live with a maximum of two adults maximum and no other pets or children.

Anyone wanting to adopt Molly will have to complete several visits to the centre to get to know her properly.

‘She really is a gorgeous girl so if someone is looking to welcome an older dog into their lives, then she could be the one,’ adds Celine.

‘We look after all of our dogs until the time is right for them to head home with their very own family, however long that takes, so Molly will be with us until that day comes, but we would like to think her wait will soon be over.’
