Ah, the humble egg – fry it, poach it, boil it, scramble it, or for the protein-junkie, gulp it.
Some methods are much easier than others. Poaching, for one, might be more faff than it’s worth.
However, egg-lovers are not giving up and we have plenty of hacks to get the yolky stuff perfect.
One TikTokker has shown a way of getting her brekkie item done.
Great British Bake Off finalist Alice Fevronia showed how she used cling film to encase the egg as it boiled over water.
And voila – your eggs are ready.
How simple.
It’s a hack that has been around for a while but not everyone knew about the method as the video has been viewed almost 1m times.

In her TikTok tutorial, Alice places the cling film into a cup and pushes it down.
She then lines the cling film with a bit of oil and salt for seasoning before cracking an egg into the cup.
She then ties the cling film, or spins it until it’s rolled up, and places it in the water for five minutes.
Once the egg ball is white and solid, you’re ready to take it out of the water.
Unpack the cling film and you should be left with a poached egg ready for consumption.
TikTok users can’t get enough of the hack and Alice’s video has been viewed more than 900,000 times.
And that’s not the only breakfast item hack Alice has shared.
The TV baker also showed how you can make an omelette in a mug just a few minutes.
All you need to do is pour your usual omelette mixture into a mug (two eggs, tomatoes, cheese, etc), then put it in the microwave for two and a half to three minutes, giving it a stir halfway.
Will you be trying these out for breakfast soon?
