Now is the perfect time for some staycation inspo.
With travelling abroad being quite a precarious endeavour at the moment, many Brits are looking to stay closer to home to fulfil their wanderlust.
Good thing then that a new book captures some of Britain’s most remote and picturesque staycation beauty spots.
The book, Beauty in the Wild, by photographer Chris Orange, brings together stunning images of the nation’s hidden gems, which rival any holiday spot abroad.
Photographer Chris, 46, spent five years travelling the length and breadth of the UK to visit islands and isles that do not normally attract hordes of day-trippers.
Many of the photographs were taken on the islands and isles of Scotland as well as the North of England.
Images include orange-mottled storm clouds over Lindisfarne and an isolated farmhouse under a brooding, grey sky on the Island of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides.
Perfect for those all-important Instagram shots.
Chris, from Haslemere, Surrey, said he wants his book to inspire people to discover the British landscape.
He said: ‘Most people don’t travel out that far, but prefer to stick to usual holiday destinations.
‘My aim is to encourage people to get adventurous and discover the incredible
beauty that surrounds Britain.’
His book is due out in October so you might want to grab a copy to plan your next staycation.
Here are some of the stunning locations in Beauty in the Wild:
Isle of Harris, Scotland
Lundy Island, Devon
Isle of Skye, Scotland
Isle of Lewis, Scotland
Loch Carron, Scottish Highlands
Isle of Tiree, Scotland
Isle of Lona, Scotland
Isle of Vatersay, Scotland
Lindisfarne Harbour, Northumberland
Glencoe, Scottish Highlands
