Confectionery lovers have had a lot to feast on over the past week, what with Toblerone announcing a new chocolate orange bar and McVitie’s revealing two new festive Digestive flavours.
Now, Biscoff has announced it’s bringing out some new treats and they sound simply delightful.
According to a statement from the company, Lotus is launching two chocolate bars – one featuring smooth and creamy milk chocolate with crunchy Biscoff chunks and the other milk chocolate bar packed with Biscoff spread.
The biscuits will be available as full size bars or in bags of mini versions.
Lotus commented: ‘The unique Biscoff taste forms the basis for a specially developed new range of Lotus Biscoff chocolate.
‘Following the recent launch of both the Biscoff Sandwich Cookie and the new international range of Biscoff Ice Cream, the next Biscoff innovation will be launched in the second half of the year.’
Sweet tooths looking to get their hands on the bars will be able to purchase them from GB Gifts for £4.99 per bar, or £6.99 for a pack of 11 minis. A launch date is yet to be revealed – but customers can sign up for updates on the website to stay informed.
News of the two new biscuits was broken on social media by Instagram account @snackinginsaudi and people in the Biscoff community had plenty to say.
One person replied: ‘FINALLLYYY SOME CHOCOLATE WITH REAL BISCOFF SPREAD!!!!’
While another added: ‘No way.’
Others were quick to comment that Lotus had waited too long to bring the two varieties of biscuits out.
One replied: ‘Amazing, but about time too!!’
Elsewhere in the world of snacking, Cadbury is reintroducing orange Twirls and M&S now sells bags of chocolate Colin the Caterpillar faces.
For bakers, a recipe for a lazy no-bake chocolate cake has been released as well as a hack for making goey-in-the-middle chocolate chip cookies.
