Fitting out a kitchen with everything you need to create delicious food can be costly.
You might be tempted by designer brands, but it can have a huge impact on your budget.
Le Creuset, for example, is known for their cast iron cookware – but a few pans could cost hundreds of pounds.
If you like the style and feel of the brand but want to save a little, Aldi is about to launch a whole range of similar items.
Matching up its items with Le Creuset, Aldi says their range comes to a total of £88, while the same items at the designer brand would cost over £700 more.
The range includes a 26cm cast iron casserole dish and a a 30cm shallow casserole dish, both for £24.99, compared to £240 for similar designer products.
You can also pick up a roaster for £19.99, compared to £180, and a skillet for £14.99, compared to £125.
There’s also two stoneware mugs for £3.99, compared to £15 for one mug at Le Creuset.
Other items listed include a griddle tray for £14.99, mini cookware for £9.99, a wooden trivet to protect your surfaces for £9.99, kitchen canisters £7.99, silicone oven gloves for £6.99 and kitchen utensils for £1.99.
Each piece comes in three colours – black, grey or plum and can be used on all heat sources, including gas, electric, induction and solid fuel cookers.
You can put the items on a heat source up to 250C so they can be used both on the hob and then into the oven.
The range will be available to pre-order online from 6 September and in stores from 10 September.
Of course, cast iron dupes aren’t new and you can pick up a similar items elsewhere but the Aldi version is cheaper than most.
The cheapest casserole dish of a similar size we could find on Amazon, for example, was also £24.99, but it is not enamelled.
Previous versions have had excellent reviews on the Aldi website.
An older red set had 4.7 out of five stars, with some people marking it down for the size of the casserole dish, but a bigger version is available this time round.
One review said: ‘Well made, enamelled inside and out and very smart indeed.
I’ve got a large casserole which cost as much as these three out together and it’s not as well finished … I’m very very pleased with this purchase !!!’
Another added: ‘Love this, as good as Le Creuset, so much cheaper.’
Someone else added: ‘Great set at great price, does the same job as another well known, very expensive brand. Well done Aldi.’
