Kids and big kids alike are likely to enjoy the latest addition to London’s transport scene.
A Peppa Pig afternoon tea bus tour has landed that allows guests to soak up city sights surrounded by their popular pink cartoon character.
The company behind the tour, Brigit’s Bakery, has been running afternoon tea bus tours for a few years – but the latest menu is aimed at younger diners and their families.
Available weekly from Thursdays to Sundays, the tour will start outside Somerset House and drive by some of the capital’s most famous sites, including Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Nelson’s Column, Tower Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Each table gets its own tablet which offers an animated guide to the sights, as well as activity packs and songs to sing along to.
The menu has also been specially designed with Peppa Pig fans in mind, with Mandy Mouse’s Cheddar Cheese finger sandwich and Daddy Pig’s Pizza mini margherita. In terms of sweet treats, there are Peppa Pig’s Cookie Shortbread and Mummy Pig’s Strawberry Macaron with strawberry flavoured vanilla buttercream, among other goodies.
There are also veggie, vegan, gluten-free and Halal options on request.
The snacks can be washed down with tea, coffee or hot chocolate and there’s a menu of alcoholic drinks for adults – although these will cost extra.
At the moment the tours are running at a reduced capacity, to adhere to social distancing guidelines, and tickets cost £35 for children and £45 for adults.
There’s also a toilet on board the bus – but it’s for children only.
Those looking for more things to do in London, a floating outdoor cinema is popping up on the Thames next month, showing classics such as Titanic, Dirty Dancing, The Greatest Showman and Jaws.
