Ah, the joys of internet shopping.
While it’s incredibly convenient, especially at a time like lockdown when physical stores are shut, and offers a wide array of products from every corner of the globe, buying something online is often a gamble.
One woman, who just wanted a nice ‘Peregrine handmade sheepskin rug’ to decorate her home with was left baffled when her delivery arrived.
Inside the box was a tiny pink rug that looked nothing like the product she had paid £55.99 for.
The item from Rosdorf Park appears to be about half the size of the one in the advert pics, much thinner than the original and had weird markings on it from having been folded in the package (or perhaps that’s just the design?).
‘Can’t quite believe my eyes’ the woman tweeted, sharing photos of her online shopping fail.
The hilarious product has garnered excellent replies from Twitter users, with over 233,500 likes and 19,100 retweets so far.
People can relate. Some shared their own online shopping mishaps, like the woman who ordered a rectangular rug and received half a circle of grey material.

In fact, it seems rugs especially are a common issue when it comes to online shopping.
Another woman shared photos of a miniature rug that is barely big enough for a pet to rest on.

Others decided to have some fun with the pink rug, with one user implying that the strange pattern reminded them of a model’s washboard abs.

But it’s not just rugs that are deceiving online purchases.
From sofas to chairs and everything else, people shared their own disaster buys.

The same thing happened to me except with a jewelry display drawer but people told me it looked the same and I was making a big deal out of nothing. 🙄 pic.twitter.com/TeJ1ufiSXZ

The lesson here?
Always make sure there’s a decent return policy and read the fine print before you buy anything off the internet.
And if you buy a fluffy rug online, you do so at your own risk.
