Ever wanted your bedroom to be more Instagram worthy?

Turns out there are certain tropes to tick off for the most aesthetically pleasing bedroom design in the world of the internet.

Design your bedroom with these 11 features and you’re basically guaranteed to get likes above the triple digits.

Bedding and bathroom brand Soak & Sleep analysed thousands of images from the top five bedroom hashtags on Instagram and gathered up the things that kept popping up in the photos that had loads of likes.

They’ve put those features together in a handy list, and we here at Metro.co.uk decided to get all interior design-y by creating a bedroom with all the necessary bits.

So here’s what the most Instagrammable bedroom would look like, with all the top ten features on the list. We added some plants… because everyone loves a bit of greenery, right?

It does look pretty dreamy, to be fair.

And here’s that list of the ten things your bedroom needs to get all the likes on Instagram, in order of most important to less important.

The 10 features needed for a bedroom to get loads of likes on Instagram:

  1. White bedsheets
  2. Windows
  3. Queen-sized bed
  4. Decorative cushions
  5. Wooden floors
  6. Minimal theme
  7. Throws
  8. Rugs
  9. White features throughout
  10. Headboard

Further down on the list rattan (get yourself some nice baskets), pink accents, faux fur, and feature walls – so if you’ve got any of those, give yourself some bonus points.

White bedsheets are the clear key for a bedroom that pleases people on Instagram, likely because they make your bed look bigger, fit that minimal theme everyone loves so much, and let your accent pieces shine.

Just be warned: white sheets only look good when they’re kept that perfect shade of white. So yes, you will need to give up your fake tan habit, never again forget to clean your makeup off before bed, and ditch drinking tea or wine in your bedroom.

Only you can decide whether those Instagram likes are worth such sacrifices.
