Once we might have dreamed of empty streets in London – if only so we could hit the shops without having to shuffle our way through dense crowds of tourists and other shoppers.

The coronavirus pandemic has made this dream a reality, but not in the joyous, peaceful way we hoped for.

Shops are closed. People are staying cooped up inside. Spots that were once bustling are now eerily deserted.

Fashion photographer Ki Price has documented this strange moment in history, capturing photos of empty streets in Soho.

On 1 April and 23 April, Ki headed along to the centre of London, Soho, and Leicester Square to snap photos on a Sony A7R III camera.

‘It was strange driving into London with no traffic on the roads,’ Ki tells Metro.co.uk. ‘The city was eerie; really apocalyptic. Honestly like I was in a Sci-Fi film.

‘Soho is such a local haunt for me, I’m there a lot for work, and it was totally empty.

‘Restaurants, bars and places normally busy, now boarded up and shut down. Places too that you might expect still to be open, all closed.’
