Model Harriet Rose, who is signed to top London agency Select, has left behind her glam life to move into a care home amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The fashion model, who has worked for the likes of Dolce and Gabbana and Gucci, shared a picture of her wearing scrubs on her Instagram.

She shared with her thousands of followers that she’d be assisting residents in a care home in Kent.

Harriet revealed she’d been living in the Herne Bay residence for a month now and no one has died in her care.

During the global pandemic, care home residents have been hit the hardest as they make up almost a third of coronavirus-related deaths.

So Harriet’s fans were extremely appreciative of the model’s altruism and applauded her for it.

Harriet said she is one of the 16 individuals who moved into the care home to give carers an extra pair of hands.

She used the Instagram post to also remind everyone of the importance of staying at home and socially distancing.

She wrote: ‘One month ago, along with 16 other amazing individuals, I moved into a care home that I’ve recently started working at, for a one-month lockdown period in order to ensure the safety of the residents during a peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘To say it’s been tough would be an understatement! But with great pleasure, I can say that we have been so lucky to have not lost any resident or member of staff or contracted any cases of the coronavirus during this period.

‘The quite literal blood sweat and tears, hundreds of hours on minimal sleep and not giving up, were all worth it!

‘We are all so blessed and we feel so proud of our huge achievement.’

Harriet also took the opportunity to thank the healthcare workers who do the job full time.

‘We send all our love to all the other care homes and care workers who are continuing to do an amazing job!’

She added: ‘Stay home! Keep to social distancing and WASH YOUR HANDS. Together we will get through this!’
