From this week, garden centres across the country have been opening, as new guidelines from the government have allowed it.
Given how much DIY and gardening we’ve seen on our timelines during this lockdown, there will be plenty of people heading to stock up on supplies of seeds, shovels, and stain for their decking.
Dobbies is one of these garden centre chains, and they’ve put in a number of measures to ensure social distancing and safety.
Firstly, cafes and play areas in their 54 locations will all be closed, although there will be food takeaway available from May 15, with toasties, cakes, and hot drinks available.
It’s also just stores in England and Wales open, as Scottish locations are following separate guidelines and are closed for the foreseeable future.
Chief executive Graeme Jenkins said: ‘We have taken care to ensure we are following guidance provided by the Government, British Retail Consortium and Horticultural Trade Association to reopen responsibly.
‘Our team is well prepared, social distancing measures are in place and we look forward to welcoming customers back into our stores across England.
‘I would like to thank our team members and customers for their understanding during these uncertain times.’
