A mum who enjoyed Netflix series Tiger King decided to dress up her one-year-old son as the show’s protagonist Joe Exotic.
Photographer Jennifer Holmes, from Utah, dressed the toddler up as the character – complete with a mullet, moustache, pistol and bullet wounds.
Jennifer and husband Weston, 32, put Cavin in a spray-painted shirt next to two giant stuffed tigers, with a toy gun and some grassy props.
His five-year-old sister Copelyn was turned into a mini version of Joe’s mortal enemy animal rights activist Carol Baskin .
The mum-of-nine, however, was criticised online for the shoot.
While most saw the funny side of her pictures, ‘the odd snowflake’ slammed her for allowing the tot to hold a toy gun.
But Jennifer paid no mind to it and has said most people found it hilarious.
Jennifer was inspired on Monday night by her three sons’ reactions to the new Netflix series – which shows criminal zookeeper Joe Exotic in all his gun-toting glory.
Jennifer explained: ‘We have a crazy household and it’s very funny. They’re the best kids and they got along so well.
‘Cavin is one and it’s customary here to do a cake smash when they turn one, so I thought this would be perfect.
‘I do jungle cake smashes or different themes and have so much crap. That’s where the tigers came from.’
While Jennifer is delighted by her unique photos, she has been the subject of abuse from ‘the odd snowflake’.
She added: ‘We’ve had mostly positive reactions but some negatives. We’ve had people yelling at us about the gun – even though it’s a plastic toy.
‘Some people think it’s a real gun but if they think a one-year-old could hold a pistol with one hand they’re not very smart.
‘I’ve had some people telling me I shouldn’t have kids or my son will turn out gay.
‘But we’ve had mostly positive reactions though, apart from the odd snowflake.
‘I’ve had messages from people saying “I haven’t smiled since this pandemic – I’ve been laughing all day”.’
The mum added that Cavin loved being part of it and even refused to take the mullet off.
Jennifer said: ‘All of the kids are very good at pictures. Cavin obviously loved it.
‘We tried to take the mullet off him and he was telling my husband to put it back on. He was running around with the gun and tiger all day.
‘Then we did pictures of Carole Baskin [with Copelyn] too.
‘Right when I set the camera down she said “am I on the news now?”
‘She was completely up for it and wanting to be famous. In the morning she asked “how many likes do I have?”.’
