Many of us are now in total isolation, and are unable to leave the house for at least the next few weeks.
Although it’s for the best – with vulnerable people being shielding in hopes they can stay save from COVID-19 – it’s meant that it’s almost impossible to get a supermarket delivery.
To help ease the strain, Morrisons announced last week that they’d be making up special food boxes that could be delivered separately, and include essentials from food to toiletries.
M&S have now followed suit, and introduced a food box for their customers that even includes their famous Percy Pigs.
The non-veggie box costs £35 and has tinned meat and fish, as well as the elusive pasta and toilet roll that’s been missing from many shop shelves.
The veg option (which appears to have sold out at present) is £5 cheaper, and has all the same items except for – as you can imagine – the meat and fish.
There are also plenty of treats in there, from shortbread to Percys to milk and dark chocolate.
What's in the M&S food box?
- Fusilli (500g)
- Baked beans (220g)
- Tomato and herb pasta sauce (550g)
- Beef Bolognese pour over pasta sauce (340g)
- Chunky vegetable soup (400g)
- Basmati rice (500g)
- Cream of tomato soup (400g)
- Chunky steak (206g)
- Rich roast instant coffee (100g)
- English breakfast tea bags (125g/50 bags)
- Scottish all butter homebake style shortbread squares (200g)
- Dark chocolate (100g)
- Milk chocolate (100g)
- Prime corned beef (205g)
- Wild Alaskan red salmon (213g)
- Vegetable curry (400g)
- Roasted and salted large peanuts (200g)
- Giant milk chocolate buttons (150g)
- Percy Pig™ (170g)
- Soft white 2-ply toilet tissue (pack of 4)
You’ll also have to pay £3.99 for delivery of the box which M&S say could potentially include substitutions if they’re struggling with supplies.
On their website, the brand says: ‘In the event of supply difficulties, we reserve the right to include slightly different products in the M&S Food box – these alternative goods will be of equal quality and value.’
They’re also limited to one per customer, and those over 70 who have a Sparks Card (so they can verify their age) will also get priority in terms of deliveries.
