With the UK set to remain in lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, many people have been turning to virtual pub quizzes to keep themselves entertained.
Some have even benefitted a good cause, with one Tuesday night pub quiz having raised over £92,000 for NHS Charities Together to support the work its staff are doing throughout the Covid-19 outbreak.
While there’s certainly no shortage of live virtual quizzes out there, others are hosting their own smaller quiz nights via Zoom or Houseparty – with plenty of companies who run quizzes making questions available online for such get-togethers.
But where can you get those quiz questions from to run your own virtual pub quiz? Here are just a few recommendations…
Where can you get virtual pub quiz questions from?
If you’re planning a quiz night with friends you might like to give one of these a try…
Spectacular Quarantine Quizzes
Spectacular Quarantine Quizzes is hosting a whole bunch of themed online quizzes at the moment, with topics ranging from Friends and Lord Of The Rings through to musicals and Mean Girls – and all for free (although they do ask for a £5 donation to child.org for those who can afford it) Head on over to their website to find out what’s on offer and what they have coming up.
My Quiz
Fancy testing your generaly knowledge skills against as many as 100,000 other people? Then MyQuiz, which allows you to conduct multiplayer quizzes in real time, could be for you. As well as taking part in quizzes you can also create them – ideal if you want to be quizmaster of your own Zoom quiz night – and it’s free to do so if there are less than 100 of you taking part.
Inquizition
Inquizition, which runs quiz nights in pubs across London, has online versions of its quizzes which you can download for your own use. It’s £10 per quiz which gets you a picture round as well as two general knowledge rounds, a music round and their notoriously tricky ‘wipeout’ round, where one wrong answer can wipe out all of your points for that round. Perfect if you’re hosting a quiz among friends, but they’re doing livestreamed quizzes every Sunday night also on their Facebook page.
Challenge The Brain
This is one which might come in handy if you want to stage your own quiz rather than join an online one – as it’s got a whole bunch of downloadable quizzes, all complete with questions and answers. Simply pick one, get the drinks in and get quizzing.
Instant Quizzes
This site features a whole host of quizzes – both free and paid – which you can download and play virtually at home with your friends – whether it’s questions or picture rounds you’re after. They’ve even got a dedicated lockdown section, with all quizzes costing just £1.
