Feeling stressed? Just look at little Ducky’s face and all your worries will melt away.
Ducky, or Duck, is a Maltipoo puppy living in Northern British Columbia, Canada, with her owner Gillian, 27.
The fluffy dog is nearly one year old (her birthday is 7 March) and has already found thousands of fans online thanks to her incredibly sweet, comforting smile.
When Gillian shared a video of Ducky smiling in Facebook community Cool Dog Group, it quickly racked up thousands of comments from people besotted with the little pup.
‘Ducky’s always had a funny little muppet face,’ Gillian tells Metro.co.uk, ‘but after her last groom where we had to take off a lot of hair (it was just too shaggy and got out of control), her smile started to shine more than ever.’
Gillian, who runs Arting Not Farting, adopted Ducky in 2018, after months spent searching for a hypoallergenic dog that wouldn’t irritate her boyfriend’s allergies.
When she spotted a photo of Ducky online, she fell in love.
She tells us: ‘My boyfriend was out golfing that day and I must have left him 20 voicemails telling him I had an emergency and he needed to call me back.
‘An hour later he did, and I convinced him that this was our dog and he told me to go for it.
‘So I called this woman on Facebook (I was sobbing, I waited so long for a puppy of my own) and I told her this was my puppy. The woman definitely thought I was crazy.’
Gillian named the puppy Ducky after the character in The Land Before Time, and ‘the rest is history’.
Ducky settled in to life on a farm quickly and became pals with Gillian’s other pet, a cockatiel named Pip.
She now spends her days playing outdoors and sharing her life with her fans on Instagram.
‘Duck is a very smart and loving dog,’ says Gillian. ‘She is friendly and happy with everyone she meets and just loves being around people.
‘She really loves her memaw (grandma) and she really is my dream dog.
‘I’m very good at taking naps and she is always ready to nap with me.
‘She absolutely loves large dogs, even though she’s only 4lbs, but she gets a little scared of dogs her size.
‘She’s obsessed with shredding Kleenex, paper, anything really, and she is a very talented sock thief.
‘She loves being outdoors, playing fetch, and just being a farm dog, even though a magpie or crow could carry her off.
‘Duck is pretty adorable, and every time we go out with her she attracts a crowd. So it makes sense that people enjoy her cuteness online.
‘I posted the video because I wanted to cheer others up, and I think it accomplished that!’
