Getting away for the spring still seems like a faraway myth, given the horrible weather we’re currently experiencing.
Here’s a little something to make it seem more real – Eurostar is offering discounted rates to a number of cities across the Channel.
The train operator announced this week that they’ll have a number of fares at £29 each way, so you can head off to Paris, Brussels, Lille, or Calais for a fraction of the price of a normal trip.
If you’re feeling ritzy, you can also bag Standard Premier seats for £70 each way, which will give you access to a special coach with spacious seats with power sockets, as well as drinks and food served at your seat.
You’ll need to book a return to get the deal, so no running off to become an artist in Paris (or at least make sure you come back afterwards).
There are also only a certain amount of tickets available at this price, and once they’re gone they’re gone.
You have until 11 March to book, and travel is between 23 March and 17 June. Perfect timing for this weather to perk up.
Alternatively, if you fancy going Dutch, Eurostar has a separate deal on trains from the UK to Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
This time you don’t need to book a return, and fares start at just £35 one way.
That leaves a lot of leeway for you to decide to open an Amsterdam coffee shop or operating a beautiful windmill in Rotterdam.
This is all part of the rollout for the London to Amsterdam service, of which the first trip will be heading out of St Pancras on 30 April.
