Charlotte Taylor wanted to update the kitchen in her new home but she was on a budget.
The mum moved in a few weeks ago and she wasn’t a fan of the wooden cupboards and dark worktops.
She investigated how much it would cost to have the cupboards resprayed and worktops covered and was told it would be around £650.
Instead, Charlottle decided to do it herself, and the whole transformation cost her under £30.
She bought a tin of grey paint from the Ronseal garden range for £12 and painted the cupboards before applying three rolls of Wilko’s sticky fablon to the worktops and splashback.
The fablon costs £5 for a two metre long so three was enough for her whole kitchen.
She then added her own pink and grey accessories to complete the look.
She posted the transformation on the We Love Mrs Hinch group and over 5,000 people have liked the post.
She said: ‘Just wanted to share my kitchen makeover.. I only moved into this property 2 weeks ago and hated the kitchen … I was quoted £650 to have the cupboards resprayed & worktops covered so I decided to do it myself.
‘£12 for the paint, £15 for the fablon .. and these are the results.
‘Absolutely over the moon. Just another blind to go up and the floor to be done.’
After the success of the cupboards and worktops, she had plans to change the floor too.
Other people loved the transformation.
