When Chelsie Lindsay got engaged, the biggest decision wasn’t where to have the wedding or what to wear, but rather who would be her bridesmaids.
The 28-year-old, from Loughton, Essex, has 15 very close friends and she found it very hard to choose.
So instead, the bride decided to ask all of them to be by her side on her big day.
Her husband Sonny, 29, from Loughton, Essex, was ‘shocked’ by the number of bridesmaids but Chelsie says each of them ‘brought something different to the table’.
She also couldn’t choose a colour for their dresses so picked three – pastel orange, yellow and pink which cost the personal assistant £600.
She said: ‘I loved having my best friends and sister Amber Kemp, 24, who was my maid of honour, with me for every step of the way.
‘I briefly thought about narrowing them down, but it was impossible.
‘There aren’t any rules about how many bridesmaids you can have, so I made my own and I couldn’t have done it without them.
Chelsie says she has no regrets having 15 bridesmaids as each of them helped in different ways.
She added: ‘One was my hairdresser, another is super creative and helped make my decorations and another helped with the drone and editing our wedding video.
‘They all organised two hen parties for me, one in London for family to attend and a girl’s trip to Malta where we had such a laugh playing games they had made.
‘There was never a dull moment or empty dance floor as it was filled by my bridesmaids alone!
‘I was super relaxed on the day because I had so much support from the girls.’
Sonny, who is an HGV driver, proposed at Disney Land Florida in 2018. While they were still there, Chelsie ordered 15 trinket boxes and engraved lockets to give to her girls.
She added: ‘The girls were shocked and crying when I asked them all to be my bridesmaid, some said they knew it would be hard but never expected everyone to make the cut.
‘I have been friends with some of the girls since primary school and the rest secondary school – we do everything together.
‘I wanted my big day to bring us back to the good old days when we were 15 and getting ready for a party.’
Chelsie said getting ready for the big day on 23 August 2019 was chaotic with so many people but she loved every minute.
‘I loved it, it was just like old times,’ she said.
‘Bianca Sartori-Sigrist, 28, who I have known since I was 11 years old – came all the way from Australia.
‘I think most people were shocked when I told them how many bridesmaids but I think it was great.’
With so many people to dress, Chelsie could also play around with the colour scheme slightly.
‘I couldn’t decide on one dress, so I had three and asked the girls to send me their first, second and third colour of choice.
‘Only two of them were left with the same options so I pulled their names out of a hat – it was so much fun,’ she said.
Sonny had two best men and two ushers who assisted the girls when walking down the aisle along with male family members to ensure the two girls and one boy ratio was even.
He said: ‘I was shocked by the number of bridesmaids, but I thought Chelsie might have had more bridesmaids as she has a lot of friends
‘It was the greatest day of my life and I wish we could do it all again.’
