Be it the Mom, the Joni, the Leigh or the more recent Editor – everyone has their favourite style of Topshop jean.
But the high street retailer has delivered on some more incredible denim, as it’s launched not one, not two, but eight new styles of jeans – just in time for London Fashion Week.
However, fashion lovers will note that these new products have some unique selling points, which set them apart from the brand’s current denim offering.
Four of the new styles are eco-friendly, made with lower-impact materials and in environmentally-friendly production methods. They all form part of the brand’s new Considered range, which is all about making garments that are kinder to the planet.
These new arrivals are simply named Topshop One, Topshop Two, Topshop Three and Topshop Four.
All four are made with 90% organic cotton and two of the pairs are 100% organic cotton. According to the website, the brand claims this cotton has been grown without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).
The Considered range also uses innovative production methods and certified suppliers, so pieces are made more sustainably.
The jeans also impressively come in at £29.99 each – considerably cheaper than their sister products.
Topshop has also released four other types of jeans, alongside the new eco-friendly denim.
The Relaxed Flare is a newbie with a high waist and a flared leg, whereas The Baggy is a high-rise with a voluminous leg, made up of more rigid denim.
It seems the Jamie jean has been updated for 2020 and is now available in a Jamie Flare – a high rise jean with, as the name suggests, a flared leg.
The final addition is the 90s Straight – a high waist, straight leg jean.
These four are priced a little more than the eco-friendly styles, coming in at £40 each – apart from the Jamie Flare which is slightly more expensive at £49.
According to Glamour, the most popular new style is the Topshop One, which features a 90s- inspired flared leg.
All in all, it seems long-reining skinny jeans are slowly being replaced in favour of more flared, straight and baggy styles.
We also predicted back in January that Topshop’s gingham tiered skirt is going to be the new fashion “it piece” of 2020 – much like the Zara polka dot dress was in 2019.
Only time will tell.
