If anything sums up the disappointment of 2020 thus far, it’s Amanda Fisher’s pack of biscuits.

Mum-of-seven Amanda, 42, was shocked when she opened up a pack of bourbon biscuits she’d bought from Aldi and found that every single biscuit inside was missing its buttercream filling.

Honestly, we’re impressed she didn’t cry right then. Imagine popping on the kettle, making a cup of tea, and then just as you settle in to crack open the biscuits your heart and trust are irrevocably broken. We don’t know how we’d cope.

Amanda was surprised but found the incident pretty funny.

The mum, from Castleisland, in Ireland, had bought the biscuits from Aldi for 24 cents – around 20p, planning to share them with her kids.

Amanda Fisher, 43, said she was shocked when she opened up the packet of biscuits she bought at Aldi. But instead of your usual bourbon - a sandwich style biscuit made up of two chocolate biscuits with a chocolate filling - she found each of them had no buttercream. Amanda, from County Kerry, Ireland, bought the biscuits from Aldi on Tuesday (18) for 24 cent, around 20p.

When she opened the pack, she found every single biscuit missing its filling.

‘All of them had no cream inside,’ said Amanda. ‘At first my daughter thought my son had licked all of the cream out of them.

‘I have never seen that before and thought it was funny.

‘I was surprised when I opened the packet and saw the first one. I decided to get the rest out and they were all the same.

‘I told Aldi about it and they offered to send me a new packet but I wasn’t that bothered because they didn’t cost much.’

Amanda said Aldi was willing to send a new packet of the 200g biscuits free of charge.

She posted photos of the buttercream-less biscuits on Facebook to show her friends.

She said people made funny comments such as ‘it’s like being robbed in your own home’ and it’s ‘daylight robbery’.

Our thoughts are with Amanda in this trying time.
