The tables have finally turned on London.
The rest of Britain have spent years being forced to get their railcards out when every artist’s ‘UK tour’ didn’t extend north of Islington, or hearing about a must-go new restaurant that would only be opening in the capital.
Now, Londoners are finally going to get a taste of what it’s like to be left out. Or not get a taste, as the case may be.
McDonald’s announced this week that they’re releasing a triple cheeseburger as a trial in over 60 of their restaurants.
The burger will see three patties housed in the usual cheeseburger buns with all the trimmings, and it’ll cost just £2.39. A late night way-home dream, basically.
Why only the North? 😤 I fancy a triple Cheeseburger in London too.

But, not one of those restaurants involved in the trial is in the capital, causing uproar among those who refuse to go past the M25.
People in their droves have been contacted the fast food chain to complain that they can’t their burger fix, with one person saying, ‘Triple cheeseburger you say Not unless I want to drive for half a day to get one,’ alongside plenty of angry emojis.
McDonald’s have gone on the defensive on their social channels, replying to angry customers, ‘The new Triple Cheeseburger is available in a select few of our restaurants whilst we run a trial to see how it goes.’
Hopefully that means it’ll soon come to all stores, and the North/South divide can come to a truce once again.
