Attention, fans of pasties and bakes: A new way to treat yourself to Greggs is coming.
Asda is set to launch Greggs counters inside its stores, with trials rolling out next month in five shops – Boldon, Corby, Huyton, Wigan and Eastlands.
This will make Asda the first supermarket to have Greggs counters in stores.
The mini Greggs will offer the same options as your regular Greggs shop, from sandwiches to the Vegan Steak Bake.
Unfortunately, the trial is in such early stages that Asda hasn’t yet shared a specific launch date or confirmed whether the scheme will roll out nationwide.
We really hope it does. Think of how much more fun doing your big food shop will be with the promise of a Greggs pasty midway through.
Preyash Thakrar, chief strategy officer at Asda, said: ‘We are constantly looking for new ways to increase customer choice.
‘By partnering with brands that fit with our core values of great quality and great value – like Greggs – we’re excited to be able to give our customers access to something new in store that we know they will love.’
Raymond Reynolds at Greggs, said: ‘We know that high quality food-on-the-go and convenience go hand in hand, and this trial gives us the opportunity to bring our range of products to more customers in new locations.’
We’ve reached out to Greggs and Asda to find out more information about this exciting launch and will update this article if we hear back.
