Hannah Clark uses a makeup mirror to get ready every morning but when her boyfriend kept complaining about the bright lights waking him up, she had a clever solution.
She turned a tiny cupboard in her hallway into a beauty station – and it cost just £5.
Now Hannah, from Dundee, can get ready away from her bedroom and her boyfriend can continue to sleep.
The cupboard just contained a few shelves but Hannah painted them and turned them into a desk.
After painting the walls to freshen it up, she added her mirror and some storage boxes on the shelf above for all her products.
She placed a chair under the desk and a hanging plant on the shelf above to give it a serene feeling.
The chair can be pushed under the desk and the whole station can be hidden away by closing the door.
Luckily Hannah had everything already so she just had to spend £5 on new paintbrushes but she said that the plant and large mirror are from Ikea and the boxes and fairy lights are from Home Bargains.
She used gloss paint on the shelves and Dulux Natural Slate shade on the walls.
Posting on the DIY On A Budget Official Facebook page, she said: ‘So after loads of early morning arguments about the brightness of my mirror I decided to up and move out of the bedroom and make myself a wee glam station in the hall.
‘Can’t wait to get ready tomorrow.’
The transformation was incredibly popular with over 13,000 likes and 1,200 comments.
