When one mum’s slippers Ugg slippers were past their best, she thought it was worth trying to fix them.
Toni Agrimi, from Birmingham, felt they were ruined anyway, she decided to go against the instructions and pop them in the washing machine.
She was amazed when the suede and fur slippers came out looking like new.
Posting on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, she said: ‘I figured they were ruined anyway so put them in the washing machine with my normal darks load.’
The slippers were marked and the fluffy top was flat, matted and limp.
But after the wash, the marks were gone and the fur was fluffy again.
They change was so good some people on the group even questioned if they were the same slippers.
Toni updated her post and said: ‘Oh my gosh they are defo the same slipper, I have put another picture with them on the same rug so you can see it’s in the comments. Why would I lie!’
Other people said that they’ve done the same with their slippers and they have come out fine.\
One said: ”I’ve washed my slippers in a pillow case, then part dried them with a hairdryer from a distance. Takes a while but brings them back to life.’
Another added: ‘I always wash mine. Wonder if we can chance the boots?’
‘I washed my UGG boots in the washer on a woolens wash. They came out fine,’ someone else said.
Another poster said: ‘Did this to my boyfriends the other week after he went to throw them out. [I] said I might as well try and they are spot on!’
The brand does not recommend washing any of their products in your machine but instead advises using a brush and water to clean before rinsing and blot drying, but if you can’t find any way to revive them, it might be worth a try.
