We’re used to seeing stock images all over the place and some have even become memes in their own right.
You probably see the distracted boyfriend on social media all the time.
But have you noticed the stage pictures don’t often feature plus-size people?
Plus-size brand Navabi wants to change that.
They’ve just released a collection of stock images featuring plus size men and women and they’ve even recreated that famous man glancing at another woman meme.
Other poses include images to show women shopping, a business meeting, a relationship breakdown, a new home and taking a selfie.
There are also pictures of several different women drinking water, different images from a coffee shop and plus-size woman eating a salad.
There are even two pictures that can be used in stories about hackers.
Posting on their website, Navabi said: ‘We strongly believe plus size people have the right to see themselves reflected in advertising campaigns and the media.
‘If you Google search ‘businesswoman’, ‘couple break-up,’ or ‘drinking coffee’, all popular stock images, it’s virtually impossible to find an image featuring a plus-size person.
‘Tired of being faced with this problem, we researched some of the most downloaded stock images and recreated them with plus-size people.
‘We’re offering these images up for anyone to use: newspapers, magazines, digital publications, bloggers etc. royalty-free. We hope by doing this it will encourage more plus-size representation within the media.’
The set of 33 images can be downloaded for free from their website and can be shared or adapted as they need to be.
