According to recent research from the Post Office, more than 28 million people (54 per cent) say they intend to visit one of the Post Office’s 11,500 branches during the festive period.
Knowing your nearest post office opening times for this Christmas could prove important as the last Christmas posting dates are fast approaching.
If you were planning to send post abroad for Christmas or with a second class stamp within the UK, unfortunately you’ve already missed the deadline.
However, there is still time to send post today if you want it to arrive before Christmas, you’ll just have to send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, Parcelforce Worldwide express24, AM or 9 & 10.
Head to your local post office to find out, but check out when your local branch might be open first before you go.
Post office opening times for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day
All Post Office branches will be open until 4pm on Christmas Eve, so you have until then tomorrow night to sort out all your last minute postage and packaging needs.
On both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, there is not one straightforward answer as to whether individual branches will be open, as opening hours vary across the Post Office’s 11,500 branches in the UK.
A representative from the Post Office told Metro.co.uk: ‘The vast majority are independently run or are run by our franchise partners. When it comes to Christmas Day and Boxing Day, whether branches are open, and if they are – what times they are open, will vary on an individual basis.
