Everybody quiet so Piers Morgan doesn’t hear; Greggs are expanding their vegan range in the new year.

It’s been almost 12 whole months since the beloved bakery brand brought out their vegan sausage roll which broke the internet.

It became one of their fastest selling products of all time – and still remains in the top five selling products today.

With that in mind they’re teasing us with another plant-based product launch, revealing a Twitter video that they’ve touted as ‘not flake news’.

The video, which you’d be forgiven for thinking is for a new Yeezy or Supreme drop, says ‘Believe the hype… Greggs x Vegan…dropping January 2020.’

We wanted me to do some digging, so called Greggs’ people to work out what it is that’s hitting stores next month.

They were extremely tight-lipped, though, just saying that the vegan range will be growing, but not giving us any hints as to which products might be coming out.

The leading food-on-the-go retailer simply confirmed; ‘The rumours are true. We can’t wait to reveal more about the launch and how we will be adding to our vegan menu.’

There were rumours earlier in the year that Greggs would be dropping a vegan steak bake.

Although our hopes were quickly dashed on whether this was the case, a spokesperson from Greggs did say at the time that although that particular product wasn’t a definite, it may have been in the works.

Now that Greggs’ CEO Roger Whiteside has become a vegan, new items – such as the Mexican bean and sweet potato wrap – have become available for those who don’t eat meat or dairy.

The vegan pastry has been perfected for the sausage roll, and the ‘flake’ hint in the teaser would lead us to assume that this release has something to do with that.

So, it could be a vegan sausage, bean, and cheese bake. Or a vegan steak bake. Or a vegan chicken bake. Or a vegan bacon and cheese wrap.

Whatever it is, it’s going to be good… And annoy militant meat eaters everywhere.
