Doctor Google might inaccurately diagnose you with some late-stage cancer when really you’ve just got a migraine, but the search engine is a wonderful space for your burning questions.
And what’s one thing you can ask Google, but not your peers?
The sex stuff, obviously. We are a shy society, troubled at the prospect of being ridiculed for searching whether you can get pregnant from the toilet seat (you’re not alone in that query).
New research by bed and mattress specialists, Bed SOS, has revealed a list of sex-related queries Brits asked Google in 2019.
Some are more specific than others (how do you arouse a 70-year-old man?) while others are things that have crossed our minds at some point.
Obviously, these are not the most popular questions asked about sex on Google, but rather some of the more bizarre ones.
We’re not sure why someone would ask whether you can get pregnant from a potato, but here we are.
How to get pregnant
- Can you get pregnant if a boy touches your breast with his mouth?
- Can you get pregnant from kissing a potato?
- Can you get pregnant from urine on a toilet seat?
- Can you get pregnant from sperm in toilet water splashing?
- Can you get pregnant by kissing while on your period?
- Can hugging and kissing get you pregnant?
- Can sperm go through jeans and get you pregnant?

The folks at Bed SOS got the data by inputting just under 200 common sex terms (e.g. pregnant, virgin) into a tool called Screaming Frog.
This generated a long list of all the questions people have Googled in relation to that term (e.g. the ‘people also ask’ section and related questions).
And hey presto, they were left with some truly weird results.
Danny Richmond, managing director of Bed SOS reckons some of these questions could be shared with a partner.
He said: ‘Some of the sex-related questions people have Googled are quite unusual, but no matter what your question is, it’s really important to chat about it with your partner.
‘Being open with your loved ones, especially about sensitive topics like sex, can only strengthen your relationship.’
Not sure it’s worth asking your other half how to make them cry, mind.
